1. What is a UPliv band?
A UPliv band is a wearable wristband that lets you access daily faith-based messages with a simple tap of your phone. Each tap can reveal a scripture, short reflection, affirmation, or encouragement designed to lift your day and point you back to God.
2. How does the band work?
Each UPliv band contains a small NFC chip (similar to contactless bank cards).
When you tap the band with a compatible smartphone, it opens a unique web link where you can read that day’s message.
No charging, no pairing, no app required.
3. Do I need an app?
No. UPliv is designed to be as simple as possible:
- Tap your band with your phone
- Your browser opens
- You read the daily message
That’s it.
4. Which phones are compatible?
Most modern smartphones support NFC:
- Android: Most Android phones from the last several years work (NFC usually just needs to be turned on in Settings).
- iPhone: iPhone 7 and newer support NFC; on iPhone XS and newer, a tap usually opens automatically.
If you’re unsure, you can check your phone’s settings for “NFC” or Google your phone model plus “NFC support.”
5. What kind of messages will I receive?
UPliv focuses on:
- Bible-based Scripture
- Short reflections and encouragement
- Simple affirmations rooted in faith
- Small daily steps (e.g., something to pray, write, or do)
The tone is gentle, uplifting, and Christ-centered—never spammy or overwhelming.
6. Are the messages available in Afrikaans too?
Yes. We’re adding Afrikaans alongside English on our Daily page and messages, so more people can feel at home in their heart language.
7. How often do the messages change?
Messages are updated daily, following a rotation of curated devotionals. Over time, we’ll keep adding new content so you can keep discovering fresh encouragement.
8. Do I have to pay a subscription for the messages?
Right now, the daily messages are included with the purchase of your UPliv band.
If that ever changes in the future, we’ll communicate it clearly and fairly—but our heart is to keep encouragement as accessible as possible.
9. Can I give a UPliv band as a gift?
Absolutely. UPliv makes a beautiful, meaningful gift for:
- Friends and family going through a tough season
- Birthdays, confirmations, graduations
- Youth groups, small groups, and ministries
You can simply gift the band, and the recipient taps it with their own phone to start receiving the messages.
10. What if my band doesn’t work when I tap it?
Try these quick steps:
- Make sure NFC is turned on in your phone’s settings.
- Tap the flat face of your phone gently against different parts of the band—NFC sensors sit in different spots on different phone models.
- Remove very thick phone cases if possible, and try again.

11. Is my data safe?
Yes. When you tap the band, your phone simply opens a secure web page. We don’t get access to your banking info, passwords, or private content.
If you subscribe to emails, we only use your email to send encouragement and occasional updates—you can unsubscribe any time.
